first episode introduces the main characters of the show namely Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Spences Hastings (Troian Bellisario), Emily Fields (Shay mitfhell) and Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). They are best friends and the popular girls at Rosewood High School. But something happen that turns their blossoms life upside down and that is the mysterious disappearance of their queen bee Alison DiLaurentis.

It was supposedly a night of sharing that will bond their friendship tight but in the middle of darkness a screamed was heard and Alison is nowhere to find. A slumber party turns out to be their darkest fear. I year later, Alison disappearance remain unsolved and was perspective as dead. What is more fearing is the taunting message they received from someone using the name “A” during Alison memorial. The mysterious sender reveals that he/she knows about what the girls did last summer and is planning to reveal all their darkest secrets which only Alison knows. They quickly begin to suspect Alison is the one behind the text messages but how can this possibly happen if Alison was nowhere to find?

Who is this mysterious “A” and why he/she knows about the past? What is the secret behind Alison uncertain disappearance? The past now comes to the future and will haunt those who know the secrets.
