Jersey Shore is a reality television series on MTV that follows eight housemates spending their summers together, in the first season at the Jersey Shore, and the second at Miami Beach. The first season was filmed in August 2009 in a summer share in Seaside Heights but was also filmed in other towns such as Toms River, Neptune and Atlantic City, New Jersey. The show debuted amid large amounts of controversy regarding the use of the words "Guido/Guidette", portrayals of Italian-American stereotypes and scrutiny from locals because the cast members were not residents of the area.The theme song featured in the opening credits is "Get Crazy" by LMFAO

MTV announced today that it is moving forward with two spin-offs for their massively successful series, Jersey Shore DVD.
One will feature best friends Snooki and JWoww as they buy a house and become roommates, and the other will focus on Pauly D’s main job as an in-demand DJ, along with his crew of friends. Both series, which are currently untitled, have been given a 12-episode order and will begin production later this year for a premiere date sometime in 2012. Meanwhile, the entire cast is still scheduled to begin filming their latest season of Jersey Shore DVD in Italy this spring.
Shore producer SallyAnn Salsano said the spin-offs will remind viewers of The Hangover and Laverne & Shirley.
“The Jersey Shore DVD cast is at the center of the show’s ongoing success and Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities,” said Chris Linn, MTV head of reality. “We’re excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships. Both series are fun, fresh ways for us to evolve what is an already successful brand for us.
